No!!! I have never been prosecuted for my race, socio-economic status, or gender, but I have been persecuted for my religious beliefs!!! I was once persecuted b/c I am agnostic which means that I don't believe you have to go to a certain church to speak to God!!! It didn't affect me b/c I don't care about what people think!!! There is no real way to change the situation besides walking away or doing what I did b/c I was being the better person!!!!
I have been persecuted for my race once...when I was at christian camp a couple years ago (how ironic!). This girl asked me what race i was. I told her i was multi-racial; my dad is black and my mom is white. She told me that she didn't believe in inter-racial relationships and said it was wrong. I thought it was very weird how she's at a christian camp and she's saying something so prejudice. I just blew it off because i didn't think it was worth getting mad over. I don't think that my parents shouldn't be together just because of their race and if she wants to believe in something that ignorant, than so be it!
My best friend got mad at me because I don't have the same religious beliefs as she does. We got into a huge argument. I love God but I don't necessarily agree with everything in the Bible. She is 100% a child of God, and that's perfectly fine with me. I know that Jesus died on the Cross to save my sins, and I respect that. I just don't want to change my whole way of life to try to be something I'm not. I became so sad because I have known her for six years and it is just hard to hear that someone disagrees with your way of life because of a religion. We will probably argue more about it, especially one certain issue that is "against God" but I hope we continue to get through our arguments and just be open to the beliefs of each other.

Personally I have never been persecuted for my race. However since i am a catholic christian i do face many struggles. for example we are during lent. my friends find it weird that i cannot eat meat on fridays because of lent and the Easter season. it does feel kinda bad at sometimes because it is my belief, but at the same time i want to fit in with my friends. i usually try and ignore my friends differences and try to find the common goods in people.
-Andrew Period 2
I have never been persecuted for my religious beliefs, race, socio-economic status, or gender. My friend however has been persecuted because she is muslim and she lives in america which doesnt have many muslims she is the only one in her grade and she kind of gets picked on because of it. Because she is muslim she cant date anyone except muslims so many of the guys want her to convert because they want her. She doesnt want to convert because she grew up being muslim and doesnt want to change for some guys. It made me feel bad for her because if she did have a crush on a non-muslim she couldnt date him and that would crush me. I could change the situation by making her feel like shes one of us and not make her feel like an outcast and i think that will help with her and not make it happen again.

I have been persecuted for my beliefs, but usually its just mockery. Like they dont really mean it. I am catholic and I have been called Mackeral Chomper, and other stuff. I have never really been persecuted for my race. I think that mainly applies to women. To make it better I think the best thing to do is laugh it off because you know they are only joking. If you take offense to it, you're just setting yourself up to lose friends and be known as that kid who "can't take a joke".

It was a boy a couple of years ago who was forced out of his neighborhood because he was black. the boy and his family stayed in parkwood and the boy was about 12 years of age. one day he came of the school bus to come home to find the N word written in black spray paint across his garage door. this situation ended up making the news and the threats didnt stop there. the boy and his family finally got tired of the way they were being treated, so they moved somewhere up north.

I don't think I have ever been persecuted for my religous beliefs, race, or socio-economic status. However, at sometimes it seems I have been persecuted on the basis of gender. Let me tell you my story. So I was talking to this lady one time, and it was somewhat of an important conversation. Well, this girl walked up, and the lady's attention totally turned from me to the girl. She didn't even tell me to hold on/wait a moment. About two minutes later, when the girl left, the lady turned back to me and said "As I was saying..." I should've just walked away because she wasted my time.
I have been persecuted for my race once. I was at 10 pin bowling alley and I was trying to get the lady working the counter to give me a Sprite. She served two other white people that came after me and just acted like she didnt see me standing there. When she finally did give me my drink, my first instinct was to throw it back at her, but I just walked away from the situation. She really pissed me off and I thought about it for a long time. I told my mom the next day and she called and complained and I dont hope that she was fired or anything, but I hope she never does that to anyone again.
-Shaniqua G.
I dont really think I have ever been persecuted in a major way, but i guess I have in minor ways. I get looked at sometimes as a christian which in some peoples eyes is a bad thing but to other people its a good quality. Ive never been rejected from something becuase of it though. In modern day people dont get persecuted as much as they did just a couple of years ago. I dont think it is right for people to be judged off of thier looks, hender, skin tone, or homeland. I will tell someone to thier face if I see them discriminating or persercuting aginst someone.
Katherine, Period 2.
No i have never been persectued becaus eof my religous beliefs, race, socio-economic status or gender. I had a friend in elementry school though who was in a way persecuted for her beliefs. she is a jahova witness and when we were in elementry school, we celebrated birthdays and holidays with small partied in class. this was against her relgion so she had to go somewhere else for that time. some kids used to make fun of her for it and i thought that it was stupid of them to do that. i could of changed the situation by standing up for her more. ~becca m p1
I don't think I've ever been discriminated against and I absolutely despise when I see or hear someone getting picked on (or so far as hated for)becuase of their differences. It's ignornance. It's fear fermented into hate. I've been very honest and straightforward lately and I bet it won't take long for me to have a story to tell about how I went off on someone and used some 'words' to tell them just how they are and what's going to happen if they continue to be that way.
~Kelsey 1st Period
I wouldn't say I've ever been persecuted. Actually I guess theres the whole catholicism thing, 'Oh your a Catholic!?'. And theres always that 'Oh your a girl, you probably can't do that.' I wouldnt consider people making fun of my religion or not letting me do something because of my gender persecution, even though I guess it really is. It doesn't effect me at all...I could care less. But I mean I'm sure it sucks to seriously be persecutes on something like race or belief.

I have never been persecutd based on religion or race, but i have been persecuted based on gender. I have been told multiple times that i can not do something because i am a girl. It irritates me more than anything else. This fact motivates me to do more things than most girls and it makes me more active and excel over most girls with sports.
I dont think I have been persecuted for my race formally but im pretty sure it has happended! The thing that i would change about it is that some people have attendency to sterptype people and put them into certain catergory's. The outcome of that is that i dont look at color or anything in a person i see them for who they are. There really isn't a way that this situation could be made better.
-LOGAN MARIA.
No I have never been persecuted against. Yet one of my close friends have about her race. She was at a christian camp and the other girls there thought she was strange b/c she was multi-racial. She just blew it off and continued with her life. sometimes she thinks her parents shouldn't be together but she still oves them. Her life continues on with no fustration or agrivation. All is well.

Jesus was persecuted by people beacause he claimed to be the son of god and they wanted to see if he could save himself. they mocked him they crusified him spit on him and he died and resurrected. People tell me im suppose to be thankful people b/c he died for my sins and so i guess i am. I don't think i can/would change that because if he didn't die im told the world would be way different and way worse.
i haven't ever been persecuted for my race or my religious beliefs. Years before blacks were being persecuted. They were once slaves and some were treated poorly. Then they were freed but it was always that problem with discrimination and segregation. If i was living during this time i think I would be a leader like Martin Luther King. I would help fight for what i believed in.
Well just now, Jake told me that "Chelsea, I hate you, because you are a woman." but he was kidding... i guess this kinda represents persecution but he was only joking so not really.

I have personally never been oersecuted because of anything. I once knew a person that was a Jew. He lived during the Holocaust and went to a concentration camp and lived to tell the tale. He was persecuted because of his religion.

Personally i have never been persecuted for my race, gender, or anything else. THroughout history though plenty of people have been persecuted. From the Salem Witch Trials, to times of slavery, to the Holocaust to modern day racism and oppression. Humans have always persecuted one another for their differences.

even the other day i was called a "mutt." its funny the first few times but it gets really annoying and old b/c ive been hearing it ever since preschool. when my mom and dad were together when i was little, it didnt bother me. but as i got older, i realized that people were very disapproving of inter-racial relationships.
The only time i can remember being persecuted for anything it was for my gender. Someone told me I could not do something because i was a girl. It made me so mad, so i wanted to prove them worng and do it. When i did it they had a whole new perspective of me.
I have never been persecuted for anything. I don't know anyone who has been persecuted, but throughout history, when someone is persecuted they usually rise up and fight for equality. The only way to end persecution is to change the way people are taught, and teach them not to discriminate.
~DR P3
I never have been persecuted but I guess I have been discriminated against because I am short. A lot of people make fun of me and call me a midget. They always say that I can't reach things and my driver's ed teacher gave me a phone book to sit on when I was driving. It makes me feel sad. People shouldn't persecute people because of what they look like or what they believe in. Next time I get made fun of I could stand up for myself.
Brooke E. Period # 2
I really havent been persecuted for my race, socio-econemic status, or gender. Persecution has been going on for many years. Fromm Jesus,to the Inquisitions, and so on. For instance, a pastor had been persecuted for running the church, and has been borught down, talked about, and scorned by some people in the church. They showed no respect for him or his family. After many years of the people taking advantage of the former pastor, they didn't know how to take having order and consistency in the church. The new pastor had brought many new and and great things such as a building fund for a new church, more youth, and a scholarship foundation. My point is, the people of the church persecuted the pastor, who brought good and order to the church.
I've never been persecuted but my mom has faced it with her job. She works at GE [General Electrics]. She is a graduate of UNC Charlotte and is an electrical engineer. In her department she once worked at, in the beginning of her career, she was surrounded by many men of other race. So when there was a job opening for a new job in a higher department, my mother earned the position. She was the first African American female in that department. She was always talked about and I use to ask her often, "Mommy does that bother you?" and she would reply, "No Lia, it actually makes me feel proud and makes me stronger!" I was proud of her and she still remains a strong, African American engineer and smiles in the faces of those co-workers who doubted her!

I was best frineds with a jamacin girl when I was in the seventh grade. We used to hang out all the time. When she came over to my house for the first time, she was surprised to find out that my dad was mexican. After that my friend never came over to my house. she told me it was because her parents hated mexicans. It hurt my feelings that her parents couldn't let her come over because of something I couldn't control (and would never change). It really surprised me how shallow people can be.
-Cole A. p. 2
I've never been discriminated against because of race, or economic status. However, a lot of time people make fun of my religion. I am Episcopal, and a lot of people say we're fake Catholics, or we just like to drink wine. And once in fourth grade my teacher told me I couldn't lpay kickball because I was a girl.
-Cate, Period 1
I guess you could say I have, but "persuction" seems kinda harsh for my situation. Since I am a christian, a couple of people have thought that I'm a goody two shoes or I've never done anything bad, but it dosent really effect me because I know that I mess up. What I dont understand is that I've had people not include me or tell me something because they thought I was to "innocent" to hear/do it. But ya, I do try to be a good person and try to avoid negative things. My good friends understand though and what others think of me dosent really matter. So I guess I wouldnt change anything.
-Brooke K. Pd 3
yes! b/c i have friends that always agree with everything i say or do! do not want to explain!!!
I am a Christian but I used to be curious about other religions and I’ve been picked on because of it. In the seventh grade, I was really interested in religions we were learning about in social studies like Hinduism. Some of the other kids in my class picked on me because of that. They told me I wasn’t a “Real Christian”. I believe that religion is such a personal thing; one shouldn’t tell another person that they should be this or that. People picked on me so much that I stopped going to church for six months. I don’t think I should have paid them any attention. Still, everyone should be entitled to their own religious beliefs, and religious curiosity, without being picked on. ~HT Period 2
i have been persecuted for my race before because i sometimes have different opinions on the bible. i really still do not have a mindset over what i believe but religion is like popular or geek. im a geek because i don't fit in with the majority. i have been persecuted.
Aaron Nix
Have I ever been persecuted for my beliefs? Probably... Do I care? No... I don't really have many beliefs... I live on planet Earth, and that is where my boundaries are. I feel that religious beliefs/beliefs are labels for people that can't comprehend the truth... We are all humans in the end. Yes, Beliefs characterize us. But in the end, we all are born the same, and we all die the same. I try to be as self reliant as I can so I don't fall flat on my face when someone doesn't follow through. If you are being persecuted for your beliefs you can choose one of two options... Deal with it, or change yourself to please others. I personally think I'm going to live with what I think and If you don't agree, oh well. I will say that I do believe that as a human, we should focus on being humans and surviving rather than shifting our efforts towards the unknown. And on another note, persecuting someone based on race just shows how stupid people really can be. For example... Person1: "Hey my crayons blue!" Person2:"Hey mines red!" Person1: "Your probably stupid then! Go sit over there!" Meanwhile Person2 is Albert Einstein.
Throughout history hunderds of thousands people have been persucuted for one reason or another. I myself have been fortunate enough not have been persucted. But their are countless people who have such as the Jews, and African Americans.

Persecution deals with religion and it is being mistreated by a person or a group of people. Also persection may be a program or campaign to exterminate people because of their religion, race, or beliefs.
Bria Pd.4
I have been persecuted on several occasions. Many times people have called me Asian. But i have also been persecutor and i am not proud of that. Persecution is really not needed in the world today but is a constant problem.

Period 1
Personally, I don't remember having ever been persecuted. But, when I think of persecution, I think of the Holocaust and the Jews. Any knind of persecution is orrible in my mind, but what happened to the Jewish population in that era was horrible. I don't understand how one man (Hitler) could start such a large movement and kill so many people. It was just wrong. No one should ever have to be persecuted. Our beliefs, race, feelings, and choices are what makes us who we are; we should not be punished that.
-MS (MICHAEL SPICKA)
Persecution is a tough word. Like people may have been judged unfairly and treaty unfairly, but persecutio occuring in America at this day is I hope a rare thing, I really can not think of a time when I was really persecuted for what ever reason.
-Maxx
I have never been persecuted for my religious releifs, or race but many people in history hav been martyrs for these causes. Martin Luther King jr. died for euslity for all races. Joan of Arc was a martyr for her religiuos beliefs, becasue they were different than the norm ~nhandi k.
I have honestly never been persecuted for anything, except my religous belief. I am agnostic, meaning that i truly do not believe that there is a god, but i don't talk bad of other religions, or other peoples beliefe, nor do i bvelieve that their beliefs are wrong. People, christans to be exact, usually tell me that god is the answer to everything, and how i need to worship the holy spirt that we know of as "god." When i tell them that i don't mind that they believe that you need to worship the lord, but i it is not in my belief so i personally will not do it, most of them will freak out. They completely go against the code of respecting other peoples beliefs, and not judging or criticizing another person because of their belief. Instead of following this they basically give a hour lecture on how the christan way is the only way and how my belief is wrong.

no never, i've seen others that have been picked on or put down because of those things. and it is bad for them it lowers self-esteem and self-confidence. i was always to scared to stick up for them any but i would now because i now what it can do to you if you let that that stuff go on.
The only times I have been persecuted is when I was told I couldn' join the football team because I was a girl. I made an excellent point and was allowed to do so, so it wasn't a big deal. The other time is when I was persicuted for being a "fake liar who thinks she is better than most". That hurts. I'm not fake. I'm as real as it gets. I can't deny that I never once in my life lied, but I never lied to you D'JUAN. I also don't think that i'm "better than most". You can't measure people like that; assign them value. But you're under the impression D'JUAN that you can. Hypocrit. BTW D'JUAN, the reson why you're never persicuted for race, is because you're not black.
.:. Joey .:.
Throughout my life I have been persecuted for my self being. People tend to shy away from me because of my strong personality and my don't care, say how I feel attitude. Some may take my self confidence as cockiness or being selfish. I think that its WRONG for people to judge the type of person I am without getting to know me. I am pretty sure if they did before they judged or persecuted me they wouldn't be dissapointed.
I dont believe i have ever been persecuted for anything. I believe that racism of any sort is immature. I find that we should all just get along, and if we dont it shouldnt be just because of the color of our skin, or our gender, or religion. You shouldnt judge a book by its cover.
Welll i have not really ever experienced those things but i do have a similar story. So i ride a bus with all black people (im not trying to be racist) but im the only white person and somehow i was the person who sat furthest back on the bus at the beginning of the year. So Malcolm, not being able to ever shut his loud mouth up, calls me Rosa and tells me to go to my spot (the back of the bus). So its just kinda funny and ironic how that worked out. haha
~JTREXLER
I have been persecuted for my lack of religious beliefs. I’m open about the fact that I am Agnostic and sometimes people tell me that I am going to burn in hell and that bothers me but that’s as bad as it has ever gotten.
-Jake Hassell Period 3
I guess that I have been persecuted for my religious beliefs. I am a Muslim and I suppose that I have been "persecuted" for what I believe in. I think that persecution happens because of other people's arrogance. Some people don't know a thing about my religion and talk about it like they are experts in it. If you want to show your "opinion" on something then know what you are talking about. I think that persecution can be prevented by educating people.
Deana Period #3
Before I enter my comment I would like comment on D'Juan's comment. He said and I quote, "I don’t care about what people think". Then why would he create a blog just for slandering and making fun of students at this school? I think that he needs to be approached about this and face the consequences. It's complete BS. He does not deserve any special treatment. You don’t see every student creating blogs to post things on the internet about others. It’s just not right.
Anyways back to my comment.
I've been persecuted for my religion, or the lack thereof. People tell me that I'm going to hell because I do not believe in their religion. Which I find ironic because the teachings of their religion are acceptance and not being judgmental.
I've sorotf bee persectuted for my LACK of noticeable religion. My family is Christian, but we never go to church. Our neighbors are vehement about sending their son to a private Christian school and to bible study and to church. When they found out we didn't go, they suddenly turned on us, and wouldn't let their kid talk to me anymore. It wasn't exactly persecution, but it was discrimination, and it didn't feel great. If only they'd been more TOLERANT. ... Or nicer neighbors.
^ LS 3rd
I have not been prosectuted because of who i am, but in history, many people were prosecuted due to their backgrounds. In England, during the 17th century, many people were thrown and tortured because of the lack of their country's religion. They were badly treated and eventually escaped to america.

Personally I have never been persecuted for my gender, race, religious beliefs, or anything else. I have however seen others being persecuted for their differences. I remember in 8th grade there was this girl who was an extremely religious Christian. There was another girl who was Jahovis Witness. It's understandable that the girl who was a Christian wouldn't agree with what the Jahovis Witnesses believed in, however I don't think she needed to express it the way she did. She told the other girl that her religion was a cult and many other hurtful things. It made me angry that she was so closed minded and couldn't see that other religions existed in the world.
-Chelsea J. period 3
I've never been persecuted for anything that I know of. Unless you count some kid in the fifth grade commenting on the fact that I wore the same pair of jeans every day because I only had one pair. I don't think that should count though. When you say persecution, I think the Crusades or the Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust. All of those ended badly because people didn't like other peoples' beliefs. I think that we need to learn how to look over the differences we have and get along. Fighting over stuff like that is dumb.
- Jodie, Period 3
I have been persecuted for my steadfast belief in the paranormal. Often people ask me rhetorical, insulting questions or prank call my agency, the North Carolina Paranormal Agency. I do shrug it off, however, and sometimes I actually educate people about the paranormal. It's rather interesting actually.
So far i have never been prosecuted for my religious beliefs. Out of everyone in my family my oldest brother is a muslim. Everyone else is christian and for the fact that we are family we dont treat it as a big deal. However when we decided to go to church, when they found out they completely ignored him. As a result we decided to leave because we didnt care what nobody thinks about our personal beliefs.
Bernardus, period 4
I have been persecuted for my religious beliefs but not as much as some people have been. I have had to defend myself against something I didn't want to watch but another person did not understand that I did not want that junk in my head. It ended up with me not having to watch it. It hurt a little bit because I respect that person a lot but I they did not respect my beliefs. I don't really mind if they don't agree with them but I would like them to respect them.
Lauren Wilson period 4
I, personally have not been persecuted for anything like my race or religious beliefs, but I have heard of many people who have. One instance that I have learned of was of Anne Hutchinson. She was a colonist in Massachusetts and she was kicked out because she believed that you didn't have to go to church and listen to a preacher to learn and understand the Bible. We can't really change that situation because it already happened so long ago, but we can make sure that it doesn't happen again by learning and displaying tolerance like we talked about yesterday.
No, I don't think that I've been persecuted for those specific things before. Not like seriously persecuted. I was made fun of because my first best friend was a dude. People would make fun of us...which I think was reeeealyy LAME. But this was before middle school, so most of those people were immature and weird. Sometimes it was argued whether I could play a game or sports with the other boys beccause I was a girlllll. Lol. But, that's no issue now, we've all grown up =] It didn't make me mad, it just annoyed me because how stupid it was. Umm...in order to make sure it doesn't happen again you could....fight back? Lol
I remember one time in sixth grade. I was hanging out with my friends. And I don't discriminate against poeple, so I have friensd of all races. Anyway, this girl came up to me, and she was white, and she asked why did I hang out woth so many white people. She said that I should out with my own kind and that I shouldnt act so "white". I dont believe in acting any way. But that really made me mad. I think we need to all get along. All you need is a little love<3

I once was persecuted for my religious beliefs. For our church we had to go out and hand out fliers for the church that we go to. A bunch of people gave us dirty looks and shot us down immediately but some actually did accept the flier. I didn't bother me none because it's their choice. If they don't want to accept God then thats their choice.

I have personally never been persecuted. I have been made fun of because of my religion though. Its really immature that people would persecute someone else because of their religion or social status. Its retarded.
To me persecution means to be discriminated against due to a specific characteristic. Personally i hate it when people say that they are being discriminated against i think that that is the biggest excuse as to why you failed at something. If someone did discriminate then that sucks but get over it and be glad that you dont have to work or participate with anyone who doesnt like you. Thomas witherington
No, I havent been persecuted before. My mom has been persecuted before when she used to work downtown writing parking tickets. It was a situation where my mom wrote a white male a parking ticket and as she finished he came out asking her what was she doing. My mom didnt say anything she just walked away and he yelled to her that he was paying for the ticket that her "black ass" wrote! She reported the man. I wasnt happy about that at all because for one, he was disrespecting my mother and he cwas labeling her by her color. I actually fouind that surprising because I didnt think they still did that in this "time".

I haven't been persecuted for anything but i remember in fourth grade that there was this girl who was a persecuted in my calss by a few kids because she was Arabian. i wasn'[t really paying attention much so i didn't really do anything but walk away and played with the kids during recess.

Reading this warm-up, I really honestly can't think of a time where I have been persecuted...I have heard of many stories from friends & through-out history though from the Holocaust to slavery to today. The only thing to do is to ignore and move on..walk away.
